The unflinchingly buy safe wow gold cool Idris Elba dashing about in THAT coat as modern pulp noir hero DCI John Luther , solving the grimmest of crimes while trying to keep his head above water when it comes to his tortured mess of a life. Doesn't that sound like it would make a fun video game? You bet it does.

Imagine getting to play as him in an LA Noire inspired open world game, married with the oppressive tone of Monolith's Condemned. Occasional bursts of third person action (foot chases, fist fights, driving Luther's battered old Volvo) in a virtual London interspersed with finding evidence and interviewing (yelling at) suspects. Dialogue decisions should include a 'stare pointedly in silence for slightly too long' option.

Shovel on more of the show's tension by borrowing Dead Rising's real time mission structure. Missed objectives have possibly far reaching consequences. Have you got enough time to intimidate that informant in witness protection before stopping a masked serial killer? HAVE YOU?

    2. The Wicker Man

Christoper Lee would make an epic final boss

No, we don't mean 2006's almost so bad it's good 'reimagining' with Nicolas Cage , but the truly unsettling 1973 original. Edward Woodward chews scenery like nobody's business as single minded Police Sergeant Howie who slowly becomes undone psychologically and then physically by the creepy inhabitants of a remote island.

Get Quantic Dream to work it into a Heavy Rain style adventure, with plenty of atmosphere. Instead of a direct retread of the movie, take a leaf out of Computer Artworks' 2002 video game follow up to The Thing and make it a sequel.

After your seaplane malfunctions and crashes off the coast of Summerisle, you wake up on the beach and try to find your way off the island, all the while uncovering clues about the horrible secret being kept by the strange community that lives there.

After a slow build from confusion to dread, you eventually find yourself getting to the bottom of how Sergeant Howie disappeared, at which point the game leans into survival horror la Alan Wake as you evade the overwhelming number of menacing inhabitants and attempt to escape with your life.

Achievement idea: Not the Bees shoot down a beehive. You play as a newcomer to Albert Square who forms friendships, makes enemies and finds out who REALLY burned down the car lot/Queen Vic/Arches this week.

It'll definitely be more fun than taking care of a virtual allotment. Plus you'll get to [delete as appropriate] scold/banter with a virtual cel shaded version of career geezer Danny Dyer , just like you've always dreamed of.

Just remember to include the iconic 'duff duff' cliffhanger drum roll at the end of each episode and you've (probably) got a sure fire hit on your hands. Strangelite Studios offered exactly that in 2005 with a first person shooter based on the franchise, but we reckon a more cerebral experience might be in order.

A real time strategy game in the mould of Starcraft which expands on the film's universe and hopefully glosses over the film's awful direct to video sequels. Halo Wars shows the leap from FPS to RTS can be done. Just swap out the self serious Halo lore for Starship Troopers' wry humour and satirical exploration of militaristic fascism and you've got a decent hook.

Let's have the bugs as a playable faction, fast paced skirmishes and for good measure, get Neil Patrick Harris to reprise his movie role and voice the tutorial. Awesome.

WILDCARD Super Mario Bros: The Movie: The Game

This reboot's been a long time coming

We've seen the meta nightmare that was the video game adaptation of the Street Fighter movie. A game based on a film based on a game. It's the software equivalent of triple filtered vodka. How about giving another beloved IP the same treatment?

Ubisoft's 2013 Tomb Raider showed that gritty reboots of classic gaming characters can breathe new life into a franchise, and the success of Super Mario Maker has reignited a passion for 2D platforming with Nintendo's mascot.
